Mediterranean Gulls in Wales

Watch for Mediterranean Gull in North America. It is overdue. We will be looking at Niagara.

Just 14 years ago, Mediterranean Gulls were rare in the UK. When Ron Pittaway and I were in Wales in 1995, we saw a Med Gull and had to write a rare bird report for the local records committee. Now the population has increased and they are not difficult to find there. It is not in North American field guides so these photos show some of its winter plumages. Scroll down for 8 photos.
