Second Winter Glaucous Gull at Colonel Sam Park, Toronto

This second winter Glaucous was on the ice at entrance to marina at Colonel Sam Smith Park in Toronto on 31 January 2016. At certain angles it looked small compared to the nearby Herring Gulls. I asked Kevin McLaughlin to comment. He agrees with Glaucous based on short primary projection past the tip of the tail, also "the bill is key here. The slightly ill defined edges of the black band and the pale tip are good for second winter." It has a beady eye. 31 January 2016 at Colonel Sam Smith Park.
