At our picnic lunch we received a visit from the locals. They were happy when we purchased some handmade souvenirs. 27 March 2016

 

Maras Salt Ponds are most interesting. Now at the end of the rainy season they will start to operate again. 29 March 2016.

 

We saw the small creek bringing water loaded with minerals that will be poured into the ponds and allowed to evaporate, leaving behind the salt..

 

From the bus we spotted this Burrowing Owl.
