Female Greenland Mallard, subspecies
Anas platyrhynchos conboschas
is a specialty
bird of Greenland. Compared to the North American Mallard, it is
larger bodied and stockier with a smaller bill, though these
features would be hard to determine in the field without having
comparisons. We saw only females. Sisimiut, Greenland on 5 September 2013. |
