Hillman Marsh Shorebird Cell

The new shorebird shelter at Hillman Marsh Shorebird Cell provides panoramic views of shorebirds. The shelter is a cooperative venture of Mike Malone at Pelee Wings Nature Store, Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO), Trillium Foundation and Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA).

The inside is spacious with room for scopes.

ERCA manages the crop and water levels in the Shorebird Cell to provide habitat for northbound migrating shorebirds.

Thousands of shorebirds take advantage of the habitat in spring migration. 15 May 2013.

An enthusiastic crowd gathered on 8 May for the Shorebird Showing sponsored by OFO and Point Pelee National Park. OFO volunteers shared their scopes and discussed shorebird identification and plumages.
