One of two White-rumped Sandpipers on
flooded Woodbine Beach at Ashbridges Bay in Toronto on 29 May 2017.
Note neat rows of breast streaking and arrowhead-shaped streaks down
flanks; long wings that extend beyond tail; and brownish-orange spot
on lower mandible. It`s a regular spring migrant in small numbers
through southern Ontario because most migrate to the Arctic through
the centre of the continent. Click on photo above or link below for
			video. |

Second White-rumped was not as bright on
the upperparts as the other and it had some worn grey winter
feathers. Wondering if this is a first summer bird. Ashbridges
			Bay/Woodbine Beach on 29 May 2017. |
