White-tailed Deer at Manuel Antonio Park on 23 February 2017. This is a small deer, unlike our northern species.

Identified as Northern Raccoon by the direction of hair on the nape of the neck. Crab-eating Raccoons have hair in this area that points towards the head rather than backwards (Wikipedia). Manuel Antonio Park on 23 February 2017.

Rufous-naped Wren at Curu National Wildlife Area in Costa Rica on 24 February 2017.

 

Bare-throated Tiger-Heron in this unusual stance and it's throat was vibrating. Was it trying to be unobtrusive?  Was it sunning? I've seen Yellow-crowned Night-Herons sunning in a similar pose. Curu National Wildlife Area in Costa Rica on 24 February 2017.
